As everyone is very well aware, we live in a world full of stereotypes. All people in the world regardless what country they come from, face stereotypical comments on a daily bases. Some of these comments are mild comments that people consider as 'jokes' but in reality, sometimes are so hurtful upon a human being, that they leave an amount of damage on certain cultures since this has been going on for so long.
Unfortunately, the media, being such a strong tool, is not completely utilised in order to remove hurtful stereotypes all around the globe. Some people face so many hate speech that they are actually scared to go out and integrate with other different people having a different cultural background because of xenophobia.
A great way on how this can be changed is mainly by social media influencers. As mentioned in the previous blog, influencers as their title suggests, have a huge impact on their followers. This can be used to this advantage especially by those influencers that have travel blogs. These people can easily, in the photos or vlogs they post, make their followers aware of fake stereotypes that maybe a country has by actually showing first hand, how life in that country actually is. We are lucky enough to be living in a world where social media platforms, give us the opportunity, if we do not afford, to visit new countries across the globe without actually going there. This power should be used properly by actually posting things online which are informative rather than fake facts on a country to demote it. Furthermore, it is quite ironic to see so many stereotypes still going on when the internet, technology and social media have given us a chance to become such a globalised world were everyone can be well informed about other cultures just the same as having the chance to integrate certain aspects from other cultures into that of our own.
